Hey Shawn!
I've just come across your blog and it's pretty cool! Sounds like you're doing amazing. I'm interested that you've taken up using the Nike+ to help you exercise. I'm a physio student in the UK about to do a piece of research to show how Nike+ could be used to help those with Parkinson's as it's not been covered in literature before and I'm sure it can help. Have you found it useful? would you recommend it to others with PD? are there any particular features that you like about the Nike+?
Cheers,
Helen

Sjawn, your ongoing story about your DBS surgery is excellent! I am inspired by your spirit, your drive to meet your goals. I'm not inspired enough to run myself - yet! - but I am exercising to lose the weight I gained post-DBS in November 2010. Almost 18 years of PD has given me "slow" habits as for so many years, I had to start slow in the mornings, waiting for the first dose or the second dose or even sometimes the third dose of PD meds to finallly kick in! I wish you all success in your quest to run the half marathon! Donna www.DBSdonna.com

Thanks Jessica! As one who devoured the dish... I can definitely attest that it is quite tasty and gives no delicious flavor up in exchange for being healthier. Let us know when you try it!

Nick, we have a room if you end up needing one. The page for our session at SXSW is at http://schedule.sxsw.com/events/event_IAP8189 but also if you have the 2011 "SXSW Go" app, and pull up the event, there is a (presently inactive) play video link there. I'm not 100% sure whether it was recorded or not, but I was told last year it took them quite a while to get all the videos out. If/when it does I will definitely post it on my blog.

Look forward to seeing you down there next year.
